Use an old trunk / chest as a really quirky coffee table. It adds vintage eccentricity and you can pick them up for relatively cheap at markets such as Camden and Portobello. They’re also the perfect height and can be used for storing magazines, bedding or crockery inside.

Look for ones that look in good condition and have some interesting detailing like locks and studding. You can usually pick up a really good quality trunk for under £100, or up to £200 for something more antique in a solid wood.
